College football rankings 2017: AP Poll Top 25 projections after Week 11 – Landof10.com


AP Poll Top 25 college football rankings after Week 11 will get many changes. No. 2 Georgia lost big, 40-17, to No. 10 Auburn. No. 7 Miami routed No. 3 Notre Dame, 41-8. No. 1 Alabama survived against No. 18 Mississippi State, 31-24.

Before the new poll is out Sunday, Land of 10 predicts where teams will be ranked in the AP Poll Top 25 rankings for Week 12.

Oklahoma State hung on at Iowa State, winning 49-42. QB Mason Rudolph was busy, passing for 376 yards and 3 touchdowns. Justice Hill picked up 134 yards and 3 scores on the ground in the high-scoring thriller. The Cowboys trailed 42-34 late before scoring the final 15 points in the game.

8. Ohio State (8-2)

Ohio State destroyed Michigan State, 48-3. Mike Weber rushed for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns and freshman J.K. Dobbins reached 1,000 yards for the season with 124 in the win. On defense, the Buckeyes held Spartans QB Brian Lewerke to 18-for-36 passing for 131 yards and 2 interceptions. He passed for 400 yards in each of the previous two games.

7. Georgia (9-1)

The Bulldogs are hurting. No longer unbeaten, Georgia, which is No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings, lost by 23 points to Auburn. Georgia rushed for only 46 yards on 32 rushing attempts. The Bulldogs get Kentucky and then play at rival Georgia Tech. But if 1-loss Georgia goes to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game, the Bulldogs would likely make the playoff.

6. Auburn (8-2)

Auburn crushed previously unbeaten Georgia, 40-17. Auburn totaled 237 yards on the ground and also had 251 yards through the air. Jarrett Stidham was clutch with 16-for-23 for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kerryon Johnson added 167 rushing yards.

5. Wisconsin (10-0)

The Badgers just keep winning. As other College Football Playoff contenders fall, Wisconsin remains undefeated. Wisconsin held Iowa to only 66 yards one week after the Hawkeyes scored 55 points against Ohio State. The Badgers held Iowa QB Nathan Stanley to 8-for-24 passing for 41 yards and an interception. Freshman RB Jonathan Taylor had another big game with 157 yards.

4. Clemson (9-1)

Clemson rushed for 227 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 31-14 win against Florida State. The Tigers clinched the ACC Atlantic Division with the win. Before the conference title game, however, Clemson gets FCS The Citadel and rival South Carolina.

3. Miami (9-0)

With ESPN’s College GameDay in attendance, the Hurricanes blew out Notre Dame, 41-8. Travis Homer picked up 146 rushing yards while the Miami defense stood tall all game long. The Hurricanes forced 4 turnovers and scored the first 34 points in the game.

2. Oklahoma (9-1)

The Oklahoma offense rolled again, as the Sooners beat TCU, 38-20. QB Baker Mayfield was 18-for-27 for 333 yards and 3 touchdowns. On the ground, Rodney Anderson had 23 rushes for 151 yards and 2 scores. Oklahoma is now alone in first place in the Big 12 at 6-1. TCU, Oklahoma State and West Virginia are all 5-2.

1. Alabama (10-0)

Whew. Alabama survived at Mississippi State, winning 31-24. Jalen Hurts threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith with 25 seconds remaining for the winning score. The Crimson Tide trailed 24-17 in the fourth quarter before rallying. Next up: FCS Mercer and then rival Auburn.
