Former Dallas Cowboys player, Anthony McClanahan, has been detained as a primary suspect in a possible domestic violence homicide.

Anthony McClanahan, who played four seasons in the Canadian Football League, is a suspect in the murder of his wife, KC McClanahan, in what was a bizarre scene outside of a Salt Lake City condominium complex.

According to the Salt Lake City Tribune, on Nov. 2, McClanahan was crawling on the ground outside the complex, covered in blood, when he flagged down a police officer and said he, his wife and his baby were attacked by intruders.

When the officers went inside the condo, they found KC McClanahan’s body, also covered in blood. The murder weapon was a small, sharp knife she’d worn sheathed in a nylon paracord bracelet, charging documents state.

McClanahan has been charged with murder, which in Utah carries a possible life sentence in prison.

Anthony McClanahan was treated for minor injuries — according to the Tribune, he was bleeding and had lacerations on his face, neck, wrist, arms and torso, and his bare feet had blood on them. Investigators found no evidence of anyone else going into the building or of a baby at the Park Regency.

McClanahan, who played at Washington State, was charged with child kidnapping in October when he took the couple’s 8-year-old son from school without his wife’s permission and drove through several states.
